My Hayward Pool Cleaner all of a sudden has stopped ?

The pressure seems to be great coming out of the vacuum. I just do not understand what can be done to get this thing going again. Any thoughts to fix this would be great…

You may have a Navigator with the 4 feet and wings, people call them R2D2’s. While the pump is running carefully put your index finger, the long one, in the hole on the bottom of the cleaner try to feel the water wheel paddles moving, if not then try to move the wheel with your finger. If it starts moving then all is well. Sometimes grit or glass gets inside and stops them from moving. Rodents work well too. Turn it over holding under water to see if you see a tail!

If the wheel is clear, check your filter it likely needs cleaning since these cleaners are suction side and affected by dirty filters.

You’re welcome!!

I’m moving into a house with this pool cleaning system?

On the description of the my parents and I are moving into, it says new salt water pool cleaner, I’m curious if it means the pool is salt water or if it is more complex. Thanks for taking the time for answering.

smooches!

I meant to say the house I am moving into and is the cleaner more complex?

i own a pool company and if it is a salt pool stick a finger in it and taste it. if it is you need a salt water test kit.you can get this at any pool store.make sure you keep pool at fifteen parts per million (ppm) ask for further instructions at pool store.write them down until you get used to the maintaince of the pool

OK Pool cleaning question, I need an expert! =-P?

Ok so is there anyway to get algea out of the pool (like it is stirred in, the water is green…) without draining and refilling the whole pool? There is chlorine in it, but I don’t think that kills algea? Isn’t there something that makes it clump together of something? How can I get the water not murky?
Geoff, I do have one =-)
Just got off the phone with them and they were very helpful.

THANKS!

I’m not sure where you live but if you have a Leslie’s Pool Supply nearby go and buy some these products I’m about to mention. If you don’t then bring the list anyway and ask your local pool store if they have something along the lines of these. The name in between the parenthesis is what it’s called at Leslie’s.

You’ll need:
- the amount of gallons your pool is. LENGTH x WIDTH x AVERAGE DEPTH x (rectangle = 7.5, kidney = 5.9)
- calcium based highly concentrated chlorine (Power Powder Plus – 1LB per every 10,000 gallons) if you can’t find that then sodium based chlorine (Chlor Brite – 2LBs per every 10,000 gallons)
- copper based algeacide (Copper Algaecide – 2FLOZ per every 10,000 gallons) if you can’t find that then regular algaecide

Just dump in the chlorine first then wait an hour and then use the algaecide. Run your filter at least eight hours. If you could get a professional water test before doing all of this that we be great to see where your pool is at because the algae will come back if your pH (7.4 – 7.6), alkalinity (80 – 100), conditioner (40 – 60), and chlorine (2.0 – 4.0) levels aren’t balanced.
