I have a pin hole leak in one of the small tubes from my solar pool panel, how can I fix it without taking it off the roof?
A flat bladed screwdriver heated up with a torch can sometimes melt a small hole closed if you are careful

I know where the hole is and its tiny. I need to patch it but cannot afford to drain it then fill it again. Should I just go buy another patch kit or try the one I have already? I’m not sure if the one I have works underwater. Its my friends pool and I’m watching her house while she is on vacation and I need to fix it before she gets back. HELP!!
What does it say in the instructions? Follow them.

how can i repair my paddling pool?

i have a puncture repair kit but no idea how to use it
the kit should have a little bit of sand paper in it, use this to slightly abrade the surrounding area, next apply glue and spread around about the same size as the patch , peel the backing from a patch and press on to the glue, then your repair kit should have a block in it rub the block against the sand paper (over the edges of the patch ) the claulk soaks up any glue outside the patch, thats about it put something heavy on it [...] Continue Reading…

I have several holes that need repair in a solar heater for my above ground pool. I understand that there are kits that have plugs to stop the leaking but is there another way? Has anyone used these plugs and do they work well? I would say I have at least 8 leaks. Thanks!
If you have the flat black plastic panels with tubes going through for water flow, you can heat a flat screwdriver and melt the holes closed if they are small

how do i seal a crack in a fiberglass pool at the slope that is already installed and drained
If it is cracked to a point where it is leaking you might have a problem with DIY. If it leaked water from this hole a surface repair would not be practical. The soil that supports this area might be washed away and it will crack again. A pool company would know how to fix it. If it is a surface crack you can get fiberglass repair kits at most hardware supply or marine repair shop.Follow the instructions in these kits .

We are getting a pool, and don’t know what much money it will take for heating/cleaning/maintaining the pool. Does it take long or is it hard to clean outdoor swimming pools, and if we hire someone to clean it how much? Is it a lot of work? Also, do pools attract a lot of mosquitos, and is there anyway to prevent that?
the answer is…. It all depends on how much work you want to do…

There are some costs that cant be cut, such as your Water Bill, Chemical costs <for chlorine as an example> Cleaning [...] Continue Reading…

  • what are the monthly costs? what will i need? i am buying a home soon with a bean shape inground pool.

what if i dont want to use peroxide or chlorine? how much would it cost to keep the water salt-based? (i hear they do this in california and i have swum in one before.)

    thank you.
You should call it a "Kidney" pool instead of "bean", but anyway caring for a pool is rather simple after basic instruction. A good system is very important (pump and filter) Old equipment should be replaced for a great looking and easily maintained pool. [...] Continue Reading…

  • Our backyard pool is a monster! It greens up if you look at it crossways, and even when it’s about the right color it’s cloudy as heck. Chemical tests show we’ve gotten the PH good, but hardly any chlorine to show for all the chlorine we’ve been dumping in there! What are we missing?
All my husband does to keep our pool perfectly clean and sparkly, is chlorine and ‘Pool Perfect’ which you can buy at a local pool store.

He monitors the chlorine balance and shocks every couple of weeks depending on use.

Our pool is always clear and [...] Continue Reading…

  • The pool is filled. The pump is installed and ready. The water is green and murky. What should I do to get it clean? Vacuum, pump, chemicals?

Please give detailed instructions! I’m new to this.

    Thank you.
I would like to do it myself.
Your pool sounds sick! I would get in a professional to get it into order, then take care of the maintenance thereafter myself if I were you.
Otherwise. Go the the pool store, presumably you need to go there to buy the chemicals anyway.
They will give you some great advice on how to look after your pool
    Take a sample [...] Continue Reading…

  • Your question is a little vague, but I’ll have a go at it– off base or not. Every pool requires a system of sanitization. We must strive to keep bacteria, viruses, and algae out. There are many systems for achieving this. Chlorine being the most common. Other organic products are also constantly being introduced into the pool water, it being an open vessel. All these organics also interact with chlorine. This causes the chlorine to become more stable in the water. Over time the build up of these "used" chlorine molecules causes problems. (This also happens with other types [...] Continue Reading…
